Act XIV of 1942 legalizing the system of national defense (auxiliary) labor service
Section 5 of the law stated that 'Jews liable for military service shall fulfil their service obligation by performing auxiliary service in the armed forces'. This service was to be performed without rank or insignia, even in cases where the individual had previously held an officer rank.
