Antisemitic and Anti-Israel Posters in Budapest
Anonymous posters appeared across Budapest depicting two Index.hu journalists before an Israeli flag, accusing them of “treason” and “anti-Hungarian sentiment.” The campaign followed smear attacks by pro-government media and the far-right Mi Hazánk. Widely condemned—including by Israel’s embassy—the posters invoked classic antisemitic tropes of dual loyalty. The perpetrators were never identified, and no substantive investigation followed.
