Formation of Jewish Union

The formation of a single, state-sanctioned Union of Jewish Religious Communities aimed to centralise and monitor Jewish religious life in Czechoslovakia. While the Union was permitted to function, it did so under strict oversight, and any autonomous Jewish organisational, political, or Zionist activity was prohibited. This centralisation limited internal diversity and placed community leadership under sustained ideological pressure, effectively co-opting Jewish representation into state-approved structures.
