German Invasion of Poland

Germany’s attack on Poland marked the beginning of World War II. Using Blitzkrieg tactics, German forces crushed Polish defences within weeks, while the Soviet invasion from the east sealed Poland’s fate. The occupation initiated racial persecution against Jews and Roma under the Nazi racial state.
