Slovakia joins the Axis (Tripartite Pact)

In November 1940 Slovakia joined the Axis, deepening political and military dependency on Nazi Germany. This mattered for antisemitic escalation because it tightened alignment with German “solutions,” increased German leverage over Slovak policy, and helped normalise the idea that Slovakia’s internal governance—including its treatment of Jews—should follow German ideological and administrative models.
