Holocaust Denial and Relativisation in Far-Right Publishing

Far right and nationalist publishers in 1990s–2000s Slovakia promoted Holocaust denial, relativisation, and revisionism. Their works distorted facts about persecution, rehabilitated the Slovak State, and reintroduced antisemitic narratives under the guise of “alternative history.” These narratives downplayed, ignored, or indirectly justified the regime’s antisemitic policies and participation in Jewish deportations. Presented as patriotic historical correction, this revisionism rehabilitated elements of fascist legacy and reframed antisemitism as an unfortunate but secondary aspect of nation-building, marginalising Jewish historical memory in the process.
