Launch of Aktion Reinhard

With the opening of Bełżec, the Nazi regime began the systematic annihilation of Polish Jewry. Over 1.7 million Jews were murdered in the Aktion Reinhard death camps—Bełżec, Sobibór, and Treblinka.
