Anti-Roma protest in Břeclav after a false accusation

Around 2,000 people, including right-wing extremists and local residents, took part in an anti-Roma march in Břeclav. After the protest, about 100 militants attempted to attack Roma-inhabited houses but were stopped by police. The protest was triggered by a false claim from a 15-year-old boy, who alleged he had been assaulted by Roma. A later investigation proved the story was fabricated, yet it had already fuelled significant anti-Roma hostility.
