Demolition of Roma Settlement in Prešov

Municipal authorities demolished an informal Roma settlement in Prešov without providing alternative housing or adequate consultation. Dozens of Roma families were displaced into homelessness, while the action was justified as urban renewal. The case exemplified how development rhetoric was used to legitimise forced displacement targeting Roma communities.
