Establishment of the paramilitary organization Svatopluk’s Guards within the anti-Semitic association National Alliance

Activists of the anti-Semitic association National Alliance (Národní alliance), which was founded in 1998, announced the formation of the paramilitary organization Svatopluk´s Guards (Svatoplukovy gardy) the following year. This name was also used by the paramilitary branch of the collaborationist anti-Semitic organization Vlajka during the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia. The National Alliance endorsed its symbolism. The formation of the paramilitary branch raised concerns about organized militia activities on the anti-Semitic scene, but the existence of Svatopluk´s Guards ultimately did not last long. The National Alliance was dissolved by the Ministry of the Interior, primarily due to Holocaust denial, and ceased operations.
