Dangerous spread of anti-Semitic hate
Although antisemitism remains relatively low in Czech society, a persistent traditional form continues to manifest in certain circles. One striking example was the activity of a married couple, both middle-aged and formally educated—a veterinarian and an IT specialist—who operated under the name National Resistance Council (NOR). Between 2021 and 2022 they sent dozens of antisemitic statements and threats to public authorities, often disguised as formal information requests, which in some cases were even published on official websites. Their writings initially targeted police officers and prosecutors but later shifted toward the war in Ukraine, where they denounced President Zelensky by citing his Jewish heritage and rejected Czech support for Kyiv, framing it as evidence of alleged Jewish control of politics. Though no violent act followed, the campaign’s brutal rhetoric posed a serious danger.
„According to the NOR leadership, the rule must be maintained, which has also been duly enacted, that the terror committed by the Jewish guerrillas on other families must ultimately have the same effects as if these criminals had committed terror directly on their own family. Therefore, the NOR leadership believes that the Jewish guerrillas have not helped their greatest criminals much by doing so; in the end, they will be caught and punished much more severely than they could be now, and criminal consequences will also be drawn against their families. Now, the monstrous criminals could still get away with so-called blue eyes, as they say in foreign languages, i.e. with relatively mild sentences, even though these criminals have Jewish black eyes under black eyebrows in the absolute overwhelming majority.“
