Expulsions of Roma from Slovak Cities

Roma families were forcibly expelled from Bratislava and other urban centres and relocated to segregated rural settlements. The expulsions were justified as urban “cleansing” but resulted in severe material deprivation, loss of housing, and family dislocation. By removing Roma from cities, authorities erased their presence from public space and intensified social isolation.
