Forced police removal of Roma after the Strážnice festival

After a cultural festival in Strážnice, police forced several Roma men into a vehicle, drove them into the remote countryside, and abandoned them there as punishment for alleged misbehaviour. Reports described coercive treatment and degrading language. The Union of Gypsies–Roma filed a complaint, highlighting systemic police discrimination, yet such abuses were rarely punished. The case exemplifies the everyday harassment Roma faced under late socialism.
