Labour camps converted into assembly camps

Lety, Hodonín and several forced-labour sites were reclassified as assembly camps for “asocials,” disproportionately affecting Roma families. Conditions worsened as racial classification replaced previous categories, preparing the camps to serve as staging areas for the deportation of Roma and Sinti under the emerging genocidal programme.
