Liberation of Roma Survivors

With the advance of the Red Army, Slovakia was liberated and surviving Roma prisoners were freed from camps and forced labour sites. While liberation ended formal wartime persecution, Roma survivors returned to communities devastated by displacement, violence, and loss. Post-war reconstruction offered little protection against continued marginalisation and antigypsyist attitudes.
