“Liquidation transports” from Theresienstadt

Between 28 September and 28 October, eleven large transports with 18,402 Jews left Theresienstadt for Auschwitz-Birkenau and other camps, reducing the ghetto population to around 11,000. These late-war “liquidation transports” further weakened any potential resistance and aimed to complete the annihilation of Jews still in the ghetto.
