Molotov Cocktail Attack on a Roma Family in Gyöngyös

On 11 November 1994, the Roma Farkas family home in Gyöngyös was fire-bombed with Molotov-type devices thrown into a room where a two-year-old slept. The house was badly damaged, but neighbours rescued the family. Though the perpetrators were never identified, the attack followed earlier racist threats and was widely suspected to be the work of skinheads amid rising far-right, antigypsy violence.
