Police beating up the members of the Nail Smith Small-Scale Industrial Production Cooperative in a pub

One of the Roma workers’ collectives, the Nail Smith Small-Scale Industrial Production Cooperative, held a meeting in a pub in Rákospalota. Although they behaved in accordance with the “rules of socialist coexistence,” they were harassed and beaten by the police. Despite submitting a complaint letter to the Budapest Police Precinct – also forwarded to the Attorney General and the Secretariat of the Ministers’ Council of the People’s Republic of Hungary – there was no response from the authorities.
