Registration of the Jewish population

Jewish religious communities were ordered to register all persons of Jewish origin, including secular and mixed-background individuals. Nearly 103,000 people were recorded. These lists, created under the guise of administrative control, later provided the essential database for deportation transports to ghettos and extermination camps.
