Reinhard Heydrich appointed Deputy Reich Protector

Heydrich’s arrival marked a sharp escalation in repression across the Protectorate. His authority accelerated anti-Roma measures, expanding racial registration, confinement and preparations for deportation. With Heydrich also serving as head of the RSHA, the mechanisms of the “Final Solution” were directly extended to Roma and Sinti communities in Bohemia and Moravia.
