Transports of Slovak Jews to Theresienstadt

After gas chambers in Auschwitz ceased operation, four transports brought about 1,400 Slovak Jews from the Sereď camp to Theresienstadt between December 1944 and April 1945. Many had previously been sent toward Auschwitz. Theresienstadt thus served as a late-war holding site for Jews displaced from other collapsing killing centres.
