Roma Children Overrepresented in Special Schools

Government data revealed that Roma children were disproportionately placed in special education institutions, in some regions constituting the vast majority of pupils. Despite this evidence, no meaningful corrective measures were introduced. Instead, educational segregation became normalised, embedding structural discrimination within the schooling system and limiting social mobility.
